Ramaa Bharadvaj is a special dance commentator for Narthaki-On-Line (an award winning web-magazine), SRUTI, (India’s premier dance/music magazine) and the National Sunday edition of Indian Express in India. Her writings have been published by: Dance Critics Association, Congress on Research in Dance, India Currents Magazine, India Journal, Society of Dance History Scholars, New York Foundation for the Arts, Dance Insider magazine and Folkworks magazine and PULSE, the only south Asian Dance magazine in U.K. She was one of 15 artists invited to write on the history and development of Kuchipudi dance for a special book on Indian arts released in Philadelphia, in which her article appears along with the writings of such artists as Pandit Ravi Shankar. |

Ramaa is also a powerful and fluent speaker.
In 2001 she was invited by the Dance Resource Center to host the
prestigious Lester Horton Dance Award in Los Angeles and in 2003 she
gave a rousing speech in support of Arts funding at the State's Capitol
in Sacramento . On September 11, 2002, she was given the special honor of presenting the opening speech at the Japan America Theater in Los Angeles on the occasion of “America Remembers” commemorating the first anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks. |
